The service supports client to become abstinent through detoxification and maintenance interventions or to reduce drug use to non-harming levels. The service is also available to provide clinical consultancy to allied health professionals, particularly GPs and Community Pharmacists.

Individuals can self-refer and/or referrals to AOTS can be made through CADS. To be eligible to receive opioid treatment you need to be diagnosed as opioid dependent, consent to treatment, and agree to comply with the conditions of treatment.
